The partnership will enable UCFB and GIS to utilise Catapult’s renowned technology, both in our elite academy teams and coaching degrees. The software will also be incorporated into the range of Blended programmes available to study in America, and will be integral to the launch of the MSc Football Coaching & Analysis programme at GIS Inter Miami Campus this September.
Catapult, who originally formed to enhance the performance of Australian athletes ahead of the Sydney Olympics in 2000, design products to optimize performance, avoid injury and quantify return to play. Working with more than 3,400 elite teams in 137 countries around the world, their knowledge and expertise in global data analysis will prove invaluable to UCFB and GIS students aspiring to pursue a career in the sector.
Mike Walsh, Director of Football at UCFB, said: “UCFB and GIS are delighted to partner with Catapult, and can’t wait to implement their technology, and hear their expertise on data analysis. The partnership will ensure our students’ learning experience continues to emulate professional coaching and analyst roles, preparing them for the workplace.”
Catapult Sales Director, Curt Taylor, said: “We are delighted to partner with the University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) and Global Institute of Sport (GIS). They have innovation at the heart of the university and through this partnership they will be able to leverage innovative technology to prepare their students for working in the applied environment whilst also improving their student-athletes performance.”
With UCFB’s extensive portfolio of coaching programmes at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level, ranging from management to performance analysis to talent development, the partnership helps ensure our degrees are delivered to the highest possible standard, maximising students’ employability upon graduating.
